The Montecito Fire District would like to announce the following retirements, promotions, new hires:
The retirement of James Langhorne brought an end to a 29 year chapter in the Montecito Fire District's history. Division Chief Langhorne started as a Firefighter and retired as the Fire Marshal. The development of the Montecito community was guided by his hand and unique vision for many years. Few have had the opportunity to have as long lasting and positive impact on a community.
The Montecito Fire District would also like to thank Captain Thomas Van Homer for his 28 years of service. His leadership and devotion to the District have made an indelible mark on the community. Captain Van Homer is a well respected colleague who will be sorely missed.
Captain Kirk Johnson retired after 30 years of dedicated service. His career enabled him to wear many hats, ranging from Paramedic, engine Captain, and ending as Assistant Fire Marshal. Captain Johnson has served the community and this District in a positive way. The District wishes him well as he sails off into the next chapter of his life
